Communication is the key.

Have you been kept waiting days, weeks, or even months for your designer to get back to you? Would you rather have a poorly executed root canal than try to get your designer on the phone for a simple change?

A good graphic designer will have a good work ethic. The best way to determine this is to judge the level of communication. How long does it take to respond? Even if you know you're not their only client, do they make you feel like you are?

I've been in the game for 10 years as both a client and a designer. I feel your pain.

I have three things that I hold true as a designer:

  1. 1. I reject the notion that price, speed, and quality are mutually exclusive.
  2. 2. Sometimes, remembering the past doesn't condemn us to repeat it, but allows us to.
  3. 3. Contact and communication is the key to success.
